OOTD: WHAT RHYMES WITH HUG ME?

PINAFORE & CROPTOP - PRIMARK//JELLIES - EBAY//SOCKS - TOPSHOP//BAG - VINTAGE ((it was my mums like back in the day when dinosaurs roamed the earth or something))

Sooooo, not that long ago i found myself going to the motherland that is Primark because I wanted SOCKS and left with about two of those big brown bags o__0 (damn you Primark!)
These days whenever i go into shops, i go to the teen/children section because alot of the time the prices are ALOT cheaper than the rest of the shop. I'm sure this pinafore would be alot longer on an actual 13 year old, but that's mainly because I am basically the height of a tree in your local park. so the moral of the story is, ALWAYS have a cheeky look around the kids section because, exactly what have you got to loose?
ok, so I'm literally IN LOVE with the recent comeback of the jellies and even though its not everyone's cup of tea, i think they look SO CUTE and just remind me of happy times, running to school in my jellies. (I used to actually LOVE going to school...that all changed when I got to secondary school!) This is a socks and sandals combo that actually works...C R A Y.

I actually miss the cold, horrible weather and complaining about how crappy it is. I'm really not about this hot, humid weather life. (unless i'm living in LA/Miami/any nice hot country, then I think I might just be able to get over the heat ;) also, I feel like my dress sense is alot better in the colder weather.

walk into Topshop, like whaddup, I can't afford anything

Helloooooooooo,
soo, usually i've give you an update on life or whatever in this little opening paragraph, but theres not much i can say (well theres alot, but we'll save that for a later post) all i can say is, its been a bit of an emotional roller-coaster this week. Things are a bit cray cray, but always look on the bright side of life right? right? anyways, before we get too deep on a post that is supposed to just be about an outfit, let keep calm and curry on..(yess CURRY)...

Top - Primark *unknown price* //Skirt - Ebay.co.uk - £11.99// Converse - Schuh - £43 // Shirt - market stall in Brick Lane - £2.50

ok, so I know we all do that thing where like something that's suddenly in fashion looks so like "what even was the designer thinking?" at first, and then after a while you're all like "ok, its actually alright" well, that's how I felt when I first saw these tops with the cut out shoulders. I just thought (and said many times) what a random place to cut out, like why would you just have your shoulders out like that, but the other day I went to that dangerous zone which steals all my money....Primark *dun dun dun*. I never go into Primark without buying pretty much the whole shop, or I pick up everything, try it all on and then put half the stuff back when I realise my billionaire mind doesn't quite match with my empty bank account *sigh* but so anyways, I went to the wonderland that is Primark and started picking up a few bits and saw this top and was like "errrmahgerrrrrd im getting it", when a couple months ago, I saw these kind of cut-out shoulder tops and wouldn't even bat an eyelid at 'em. I hope to get some more tops with cut out shoulders and i can't wait to style 'em. I'm sure the next trend will be cut out elbows...*watch this space*

thoughts on the outfit? does Primark ((or any other shop)) eat all your money?

OOTD: im a barbie girl, in a barbie world

Hello beauties, so the nice weather we were having decided to go for a little holiday, but it weren't too bad, but to be honest i'm waiting for the 30 degrees weather, then i'll get excited or just a one way trip to a hot country. hey ho, on with the outfit...

Crop Top and Creepers - Ebay// Dungarees - boohoo.com// Tights - Primark// Denim Jacket - (used to be my dads  // Shirt (under jacket) - Newlook *sale*

so a couple months ago, I saw a vintage looking Barbie jumper and joggers set on asos.com and I couldn't myself wearing it, but it did catch my eye. I can't even remember how many barbies I had as a child and when I saw it just brought back all those memories of playing with my barbies in my room, making up stories about their life's with my other dolls wishing it was my life (now thinking about it, its actually quite sad..hmm). but anywaaaays, last week I saw this crop top on Ebay and I was just like "ermahgerrrrrrrrd, i.need.that.now" and for only a fiver, I was typing in my details faster than you can say "barbie". I'm not sure if you can see the huge ladder in my tights which I created myself to get that "grunge look"...ok actually, in typical Shekinah-ness, as I was putting them on for the 1st time I ripped it and I just werk..yes WERKed with it. *three snaps in a Z formation*

thoughts on the outfit?? anyone else really wanted a volkswagen beetle because barbie had one?

OOTD: how do you get up from an all time low?

ello ello ello, so over the past few weeks have been soo ill and you know when you just basically feel like death and you want to just lie down all the time, curl up in your bed with a hot drink and watch pretty much anything..well, i can't really do that during the week because of work (boo!), so i haven't had that time to fully get better but hey ho, i cant still walk and talk, so what am i really complaining about? so anyways, today i went to church and basically alot of people got a bit too excited that the sun was out. I saw waaaaay too many legs and toes out today and i was just feeling cold looking to them.

Dungarees - Primark - £14// Jacket - random shop near my house *forgot the name* - £10//Shirt - Forever 21 - £14.95//Bow Tie - Claires - £4//Boots - Primark - £14//Socks - Topshop - £3.50

I'm really loving this whole dungarees/pinafore trend that's around at the moment. I bought these dungarees a few weeks ago and I do really love them, and I can't wait until I get that hot bod, so I can wear it with a crop top underneath.

OOTD: you make me glow, but i cover up, won't let it show

Dress - Primark - £8
Jumper - Primark *unknown price*
Creepers - Ebay - £22.99
Cardi - Charity shop - £5

Hello beauties, so on sunday, i was trying to find something to wear for church and you know when you really have it in your mind to wear something. Well i told myself that i would wear this dress that i hadn't worn yet that i bought a few month back. I put it on and it kinda just hung on my body. Which either means, some fairies have been in my wardrobe, re-sizing all my clothes all my clothes to make it seem like i've lost weight, or i've actually lost weight. I am hoping its the 2nd one. So, i really didn't like the way it fit and i tried putting on a belt and still didn't look right, soo i decided stick a jumper on and tie the back. Somehow, it worked and i'll definitely be trying this will some more of my dresses and light jumpers.
I'm reeeeally loving dogtooth print at the moment
This week has been actual Antarctic weather conditions and i've caught some horrible bug. boo you weather, boo you. and i FINALLY came up with a new blog name. If you know me or see my blog posts, you will see that i love me some bow ties and i after long and hard thinking i decided on 'The Bowtie Diaries' :-)

thoughts on the outfit? thoughts on the new name?

OOTD: the power of love, a force from above

Heyyyyy beauts, soo i'm determined to blog more often because i really do love it and i dont know why i don't do it often but new year, new me and all that. soo here's a cheeky outfit of the day :-)

Jumper - vintage shop on brick lane - £5
Levi Shorts - ebay - £12
Bowtie - Ghana ((as in, its literally from the country not a shop called 'Ghana' lol))
Converse - Office - (idk how much i actually paid for these because i bought 'em like 5 years ago)) - £42.99
Black blouse - Forever 21 - £12

I really want to get more pairs of converse because i used to LOVE them, then i stopped, then i started again, then it got too cold, now i just don't pay attention to the weather. I only have 5 pairs of converse but I want like every pair its an actual problem. I just want it to be summer and i can be skinny and walk around naked.

thoughts on the outfit? are you wishing to lie on a hot beach, sip cocktails and forget all your worries?...i know i am

OOTD: i'm in love with you and all your little things

heyyyyyy beauties, heres an outfit of the day that i wore the other day whilst shopping with Ally and Vanese :-)

Bow tie - Vintage shop in Brick Lane - £3
Blazer - Chairty shop - £5
Earing - *unknown price*
Denim shirt - Primark - £8
Velvet Skirt - Ebay - £11.99
Tights - Primark - £3
Boots - Primark - £15

Soo as you can see i got a bit excited with the different editing effects i found *oopsies*

okay so, this weather is truly depressing and the fact that its getting colder and possible SNOW...like...whats that all about?! please someone put me on a one way flight to LA for sun, sea and se....ice cream ;-) even though its getting colder, i've started wearing skirts and shorts a lot more because we all know fashion comes before health (jk, well kinda). I just want every pair of denim shorts, leggings and skater skirts in the world.
This year i will reach my goal weight and actually feel comfortable in my skin. I hope this year everyone achieves REAL happiness and confidence!

thoughts on my outfit? have you made new years resolutions that you actually plan to stick to?

OOTD: it takes me all the way, i want you to stay

okay, soooo i know i haven't blogged in forever *slap on the wrist...or bum* (cheeky) but the other day i had to quickly rush out and i chucked this outfit on and i really liked it. So, i call  this outfit 'cheeky quick outfit which kinda works so maybe i should rush all my outfits'

Plaid Shirt - Rokit - unknown price
Spiked Necklace (which i know you cant really see, but its this one) - Pop Couture - £8
Grey Leggings with Pleather Panel - Primark - £3 (did someone say BAR-GAIN?)
Brown Chelsea Boots - Primark - £15

Sooooo, I've mentioned before that i lurrrrrrrrve me some plaid/tartan. I just love the way that it makes a statement and i'm all about statements.
I adore these leggings with the pleather panels because i just think they look soo cute and work well with a lot of outfits. you can wear them with a cropped top and heels for a night out or a baggy jumper/shirt for a more casual look. Leather/Pleather is bang on trend right now and i would defo recommend adding a bit of pleather to your wardrobe. Missguided.co.uk do some uhh-maze ones here and boohoo.com have some PU leggings here. PU/pleather/wet look leggings are like designed for people to have a little struggle whilst getting dressed. I don't actually own a pair, because i wanna have some boom-boom pow legs to show off in those leggings, but i tried some on recently and the struggle was real. *apply baby powder/butter/oil before putting on these leggings*...o k don't..or maybe you like that kinda stuff...

Hope you've all had an amaze Christmas and eaten enough food to last you until easter ;)

OOTD: galaxy defenders, stay forever

Okay so this winter weather is really getting me down. I've been ill for the past few days *breaks out the violin* and i've been wondering whether i'm in London or Antarctica. Anywhoooo, I got these very tumblr-esque galaxy print leggings a while ago but they didn't fit before, but they do now (well they're still a bit of a cheeky squeeze). The way galaxy print is just all over the gaff, is just cray cray. I do love it though, because it just sucha weird print and 'weird' is my middle name. I ADORE layers, espesh in this weather, just layer me up baby! I love wearing jumpers and leggings. they are my 'safety outfit' and its just an easy outfit, that can be played up or down. I decided to add the denim shirt under and denim jacket over, just to Shek it up (geddit ;)...and yes, double denim is perfectly acceptable as long as you wear it right.

RIGHT

WRONG

SO SO WRONG

Anywayss, back to the outfit.

Denim Shirt - Vintage *unknown price*
Necklace - Primark - £5
Ring - Charity Shop - £1
Jumper - Vintage *unknown price*
Leggings - Primark £8
Boots - Primark - £15
Denim Jacket - Vintage *unknown price*
Earring - Vintage *unknown price*

I'd love to know your thoughts on the outfit
are you a polar bear and enjoy this weather?

Pop Couture Bloggers Event

So, on thursday, i attended my 1st ever bloggers event. It was hosted by Punk PR for Pop Couture's new Christmas collection. I was really excited as i'd never been to one before and i was excited to see people who share the same interests as me. I went with my friends Ally. and Vanese and met our other friend Ellie when we got there.
The even was held at the Neo Bar in Barbican and it was a great venue. I loved the decorations and the general atmosphere. There was a make-up artist who was doing mini makeovers and i decided to go for a red/maroon lip.

(i forgot the name of the lipsticks, but they were both MAC)
felt like a celeb getting my make-up done ;-)
We got to see the new collection by PopCouture.co.uk and i truely loved all the pieces. There was alot of glitter, velvet and everything that i just LOVE. We could tag something that we wanted and i tagged the
ENAKAI TARTAN BLOUSE WITH FAUX LEATHER COLLAR When i saw it, i eyes opened wide like i've just the most beautiful man in the whole world. I instantly fell in love and i knew i had to have it. I cant wait for it to arrive because, i've been wanting some tartan clothing to add some more colour to my wardrobe and i cant wait to style it.
We had these gorgeous cocktails and champers and i met some really lovely people. and it was just a friggin good time.
At the end of the night we got given a goodie bag with some treats inside.

I am so so so so happy that i got these bits. I wanted a burgandy turtle neck as i am loving turtle necks at the moment and a spiked necklace and i got both for FREE. oh happy days
I am excited to style both of these as, they are very versatile and look great with many different pieces.
Heres a few more pics and my OOTD/N:
Blouse - Primark
Bowtie - Charity Shop
Leggings - New Look
Tights - New Look
Skirt - Amazon
Coat - Vintage
Boots - Primark

It was a truely great night and i cant wait for the next one.
Thank you to PUNK PR, Pop Couture and everyone involved :-)

OOTD. when you finally find what's beautiful, it's soo wonderful.

So, I've had a really good weekend with my friends. Went to Wagamama, and O M G, i really don't know what rock i've been hiding under, but it was the first time i'd been to Wagamama and it was uhh-maze-ing. Being with my friends make me so genuinely happy, so it was really good to get out :-)

FREE Green Tea
(two of my fave things in life. free things and green tea)

Polo Neck: thats old favourite..yupp, my mothers old wardrobe
Polo/Turtle necks are very in right now and I love them. I think they look so cute and chic. They can really make a statement and also keep your neck warn (win win). asos.com do a really cute one here in a black, dark red and white. and American Apparel do some black/navy and white striped ones here
Cardigan: Primark
I love a nice thick boyfriend cardi. (wishing it was my actual boyfriends cardi*cries into a tub of ben and jerry's whilst watching New Years Eve*) Perfect for this british weather and goes with alot of outfits.. Newlook do a similar one here and comes in dark red, navy blue, light link and grey
Shorts: Vin-tage (aka, my mums old jeans)
I wouldn't really recommend wearing denim shorts in this cold weather, but if you're like me, and sometimes just throw on clothes and then get outside and realise you're freezing your tits off, but you're already running late so you just embrace the cold, then wearing denim shorts in this weather is totally acceptable. Just make sure you're wearing some very high denier tights. Denim shorts are pretty much everywhere and are just super c-ute.
Belt: unknown
Necklace: Newlook
I've posted about this necklace before and they dont sell this one in newlook anymore, but they are everywhere and  these type of vintage-esque necklaces can really spice up your outfit. Especially if you're wearing plain colours. Also, collar tips, can add an extra spice to your outfit (obviously you need to be wearing something with a collar)
RingsAndTings.com have a really great selection of necklaces, collars and collar tips here

OOTN.

I went out the other night (kinda still recovering) and this was my OOTN....

Jumper - Vintage (mums wardrobe)
Skirt - again, my mothers old wardrobe
Tights - Primark £3
Chelsea Boots - unknown shop (lol)

This outfit could pretty much be worn during the day. I'd personally, not wear the skirt during the day, simply because my legs are too horrible to be seen in daylight with a skirt that short. I'd probably wear some denim shorts (yes, my legs are still out, but its not the same to me OK) or leggings/jeggings.jeans. But, if you have the confidence then, YOU GO GLEN COCO.
Also, creepers would go really well with this outfit, but i don't own any (im tall enough).
The skirt is actually glittery and velvet and the jumper is extremely thick, with leather diamonds on the front.

Hope you liked this, if you didn't, then you suck bananas (jk, not really)

nothing plain about plaid.

i seriously need to learn to blog more....*slaps self across the face multiple times*

Soo, plaid has been 'in' for donkey years. to be honest, i dont think plaid will ever go out of fashion, because its soo versatile and I just friggin l o v e it.

Emma Watson wears this gorge plaid dress with a leather jacket
Brooklyn Decker looking hot and casual with a plaid shirt and jeans
Alexa Chung suiting it up with a plaid suit jacket and trousers

I went with the classic plaid shirt from a charity shop on brick lane,
Denim shorts from a little place i like to call 'my mums old wardrobe'
and a bow tie which used to be a hair bow from Claire's Accessories.

I love cute vintage pieces and 'Rokit' have a similar shirt here but because plaid is literally everywhere.
For denim short, once again, these are everywhere, but theres some really nice ones from daisystreet.co.uk here
For a bow tie, you don't have to actually buy a bow tie. You can just buy a hair bow and clip it unto your top. I actually find it more comfortable than having an actual bow tie around my neck. Beyond Retro have one here

OOTD

ello ello ello, i know its been a while, did anyone miss me? no? ok then...moving swiftly on.

OOTD ('the day' sometime being last week...soo technically its OOSLW)

Blouse: Forever 21
I love this shirt, because it can be worn with pretty much anything and can really edge up your outfit.
They dont sell this shirt anymore in Forever 21, BUT this and this from Forever 21 are quite similar

Bralet: Primark
This bralet is one of my favourite pieces because it fits perfectly and is another thing that can be worn with alot of things AND it was a bargain price
Theres a similar one here from Topshop and here boohoo.com do some really cute ones

Shorts: Vintage jeans that I cut
Shorts like these are e v e r y w h e r e and i mean everywhere. I found some super cute shorts here on daisystreet.co.uk and check out the other stuff on there too. a m a z e. OR you can always just dig out your mums old jeans from the 80's and cut them.

Necklace: New Look
I bought this necklace years ago, but they sell similar ones here from Topshop and here from asos.com

Belt (actually its a scarf, but shhh): ???
I dont actually know where this scark/head-tie/belt is from, as it was a present and theres no label. It has a very Versace-esque look to it and just adds that little extra spice to the outfit. If you cant fork out £227.20 for a Versace one here then this one from Newlook or Asos have some really cute ones here but this is an item that can be found in many shops.
